Great new book for Respect Life organizations, Faith Formation programs, and Youth Ministry!
In its mother’s womb, a tiny baby grows, explores the waters, and talks with the angel who is there.
These gentle illustrations and wise words tell the story of that baby and the angel in the waters . . . a story that will delight all young children, and adults as well, because the journey from conception to birth is their story, too.
Regina Doman is the author of several books for young adults. Ben Hatke is an artist and illustrator who lives and works in Virginia.
The perfect gift for the expectant mother--and father, too!--something they can read while awaiting the birth of their little one, and then read to their child from his/her earliest years. I've been giving this as a gift to everyone in my office when they learn they're expecting. Everyone loves it--Christian, Jewish, even those of no faith. In the case of the latter, maybe it's even a way for the good God to get His foot in the door of their souls at a naturally sacred time in their lives. Angel in the Waters
Pro-Life Mom (Akron, Ohio, February 8, 2012)
I read the book to a kindergarten class and I'm not sure they completely understood it, but I think it would be great to read one-on-one to a child. That way you could answer questions and explain it. The pictures are a little dark for children, but appropriate for the subject matter. I think a newly pregnant mom would love it. Best Uses: Gift, parents; Cons: Dark pictures; Describe Yourself: Bookworm; Pros: Beautiful pro-life book, Easy To Understand, Great Pictures, Keeps Parents Interest, Positive Message, Teaches Good Values, Well Written
Wonderful book for mother to be

My daughter remembered this book and requested it when she got pregnant with her first child. I really love the message about a baby who is accompanied by his angel from the moment of conception. The angel soothes the baby's fears and answers his/her questions. I wanted to suggest to the author that they include at least one line about "Father".
I think our society really needs a reminder about the importance of this incredible role. Best Uses: Gift, Younger Readers; Describe Yourself: Everyday Reader; Pros: Great Pictures, Positive Message, Stimulates Imagination, Teaches Good Values, Well Written
