Product Description
From movies like "The Golden Compass" to books such as "God is Not Great”, atheism has received a lot of media attention recently. However, there is a marked difference between atheists of the past and those in today's limelight. Today's atheists seem to be going more on the offensive, attacking Christianity in public forums.Particularly disturbing is the recent release of The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. This book has catapulted to the top of bestseller lists and allowed Dawkins a new platform for airing his ideas. After witnessing several students leave the Faith after reading this book, Scott Hahn and Benjamin Wiker decided to join together to address Dawkins' arguments against the existence of God. An essential book for dismantling Richard Dawkins' atheistic agenda, Hahn and Wiker show in Answering the New Atheism how inconsistent and illogical his conclusions truly are.

Included in the topics covered is the issue of morality. Today's atheism uses Darwinism for its base - an ideology which teaches that there is no "right" and "wrong. Every moral issue is approached subjectively and morality is continuously evolving. Hahn and Wiker take a look at Dawkins' "super niceness" version of morality and show how his ideas are fundamentally at odds with the Christian teaching that man is made in the image of God.
This thorough book is written in an easy-to-read style and matches Dawkins arguments point-by-point. It is the definitive book for college students or faithful Christians hoping to answer Dawkins' claims and assert the logic and beauty of their faith. Parents are encouraged to read it for themselves and then share it with their high school and college aged children. This age group seems to be the target audience of atheists since teens have such a thirst for knowledge and can sometimes be easily swayed.

Shoddy attempt at refuting atheists.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
Book presupposes existence of a Supreme Being, not the right response to Dawkins at al. He who claims has the burden of proof. |

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
My high school class was assigned this book for a religion paper. The hardest thing I have ever had to read in my entire 17 years of life. I have been in a Catholic school for 13 years and I do not understand this book at all. Too many numbers and concepts that my friends and I do not get. Teachers, do not assign this book to your high school students. |

Hahn and Wiker did a great job exposing the errors of Richard Dawkins in this book. I read Dawkins' book "The God Delusion" and i would recommend Hahn and Wiker's book to anyone that has read it, incidentally, i would recommend it to anyone that is interested in Darwinian evolution. The "theory" of Darwinian evolution has left many asking questions that threaten our very belief in a higher being, and anyone questioning God due to atheism MUST read this book! |
Atheists can be irrational too!!!

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
This book is less about proving the existence of God and more about poking holes in all of Dawkins so-called rationality. There are a lot of scary consequences to following Dawkins' line of reasoning, but I won't spoil it by mentioning them here. The book is a little hard at the beginning if you aren't used to thinking in philosophical terms, but gets easier as you go. |
