Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
We bought this as a gift for our son's godparents. The frame seems to be of good quality, the only downside is the size of photo. It only holds a 3x5. Some photo places don't even do this size anymore. 4x6 would be much more practical.
