For those who want to grow spiritually, Benedictine Daily Prayer provides an everyday edition of the Divine Office. People who desire to pray with the church can do so in a simple manner by following this Benedictine daily prayer model. Based on solid and traditional prayer patterns of more than fifteen hundred years of liturgical prayer within the Benedictine monastic tradition, Benedictine Daily Prayer helps readers celebrate and appreciate God's presence that is found everywhere, especially within the Divine Office. It offers a richer diet of classic office hymnody, psalmody, and Scripture than shorter resources are able to provide.
Benedictine Daily Prayer is designed for Benedictine Oblates, Benedictine monastics, and men and women everywhere. It's small enough to fit in a briefcase for travel. Scripture readings are from the NRSV.

Great resource for all Christians
D. H.(Bavaria, Germany, November 22, 2014)
This book ist a great resource for personal prayer, and not only for Roman Catholics! It has the usual psalms and Canticles from the Liturgy of the Hours but is very easy to use and offers meaningful readings and intercessions. At the same time there are lots of different texts from the Old and New Testament for the Vigils, that one might also read during any time of prayer or reflection. It makes you appreciate the treasures of the Christian tradition, but is in no way old-fashioned! No tunes!!
It couldn't be any better. I LOVE it.

Great For Travellers
Benedictine Bob(Brantford, Ontario, Canada, June 9, 2010)
This is a great addition to any collection of daily prayers. I use the 4 volume Order of Office, daily, but find the "Benedictine Daily Prayer Book" to be a great travelling companion. Because of its compactness, it takes a bit of effort to familiarize oneself with its "layout". The time is well worth it! The times for the hours are from the Benedictine Rule, and took me a few readings to remember them.
It is a beautiful book, feels nice in the hands, and is compact. All in all, a great resource. Best Uses: DAILY READING; Cons: Uses Older "Terms"; Describe Yourself: Bookworm; Pros: A Great Companion
Wonderful Book of Hours
A Benedictine Oblate(Minneapolis, MN, August 13, 2009)
I am so glad this has been published. As a female Benedictine Oblate I appreciate the usage of the NRSV inclusive text. The regular Liturgy of the Hours is a bit old fashioned and dry. The daily readings are excellent and the daily prayers have variations based on a 4 week cycle. This is truly a Benedictine prayer book worth using daily for years to come.
It is also a nice size and it feels good in your hand. Best Uses: Gift, Older Readers; Describe Yourself: Bookworm; Pros: Deserves Multiple Readings, Well Written
Very comprehensive publication

I use this product for daily prayer, and find fairly easy to navigate. It took about one week to get to know it well as to how this brieviary is arranged and to feel at ease using it. Very comprehesive, all around well arranged. Best Uses: Reference; Describe Yourself: Casual Reader; Pros: Easy To Read
