This edition of commentaries on all twenty-seven books of the New Testament gives you the complete English (Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition) and Latin (New Vulgate) texts of each book, plus extensive and faithfully Catholic explanations of the scriptural texts and their implications for everyday life. It is self-contained with wide-ranging general intorductions, introductions to each biblical book, a table of sources sited, maps and informative notes. Scholarly and readable, the Navarre bibles are a comprehensive intellectual, historical, and spiritual survey of the riches of the New Testament.

This hardback edition is a larger size (apprx. 7 x 10 inches) to accomodate much more extensive commentary than in either the compact edition or the original paperback 12-volume edition. The commentary focuses in more depth and length as compared with the shorter, more detailed commentary on individual verses or very short sections. It avoids repetition between Scriptural books. There is a unitary vision and explanation for each Scriptural book, more attention to the sense of the text, and the avoidance of repitition in explanations of the synoptic Gospels. The larger trim size and more ample margin allows for easier reading and note taking than in earlier versions.

How to Read the Bible Every Day helps Catholics read through the entire Bible. It includes an easy-to-use plan for beginners as well as plans for those already reading Scripture regularly. It even includes a supplemental reading plan keyed to the Church year. The three-year plan involves only 5-7 minutes a day of reading the Bible. Two-year and one-year reading plans give the more ambitious reader the opportunity to read Scripture 10-15 or 20-30 minutes a day. The two-year plan follows the daily readings of the liturgy. Its compact size means you can easily slip it inside your study Bible. Here is an invaluable guide for Catholics who want to grow in their understanding of God's Word.

The conflicts of the early Christians in Corinth were in many ways similar to our struggles today as Christians. With divisions, immorality, persecution, and other trials of the faithful, the message of St. Paul to the Corinthians is a much-needed message for our own times. First Corinthians: The Church and the Christian Community explores the key elements that the apostle Paul introduced to a new and growing Church. St. Paul taught the Corinthians about the nature of grace and the Church as the Body of Christ. In addition, he introduced the Corinthian Christians to the most powerful gift of all, the Eucharist.

Who hasn't been there: You're late for one child's music lessons, another child's shoes are missing, the house is a mess, you're trying to make dinner before you leave ... It's enough to make a mom cry -- or laugh.

Mary, a saint and yet a mom, too, would have laughed at those inevitable moments when everything seems to go wrong. Her life as a mother -- and as a wife, a daughter, and a friend -- is a perfect model for us today. Laura Marie Wells, author of A Marian Bible Study: Bringing Scripture to Life for Moms, finds those connections between the Blessed Mother's life and ours. A mom to three children herself, Wells includes her own tales from the front with warmth and humor. At the same time, Wells exposes readers to the depth and breadth of what is known about Mary. Her careful research is born of seven years' experience leading Bible studies. Wells' detailed questions are designed to break open the topic so participants learn the facts as they grow to truly love our mother Mary.
