Blessed Jose Sanchez del Rio
Blessed Jose Sanchez del Rio was a fighter for Cistero's forces during the Cistero War in Mexico. He was captured by the government forces in 1928 and was asked to renounce his faith. He refused and rather prayed the rosary every day. The prison guards forced Blessed Jose Sanchez del Rio to perform tasks such as walking around the cemetery after they had cut off the bottom of his feet. Eventually the government officials gave up him ever renouncing the faith and therefore shot him in the head with a pistol in 1928.
