Illustrated by Elena Kucharik, developer of the Care Bears. Compiled with verses from the International Children's Bible - New Century Version, Holy Bible - NIV and RSV, The Catholic Living Bible, and The Living Bible.
This delightful book of devotions includes easy-to-read Bible verses for kids ages 2-5 (and parents as well!). It is a terrific way to introduce young children to the promises of Scripture!
Each day of the year is illustrated on a separate page with the Little Blessings characters. Daily Scripture verses are accompanied by a reflection on how the verse applies to the life of your child.
We gave this book as a Christmas gift to our preschool age Godchild. We were very pleased with the quality. Best Uses: Gift, Younger Readers; Describe Yourself: Casual Reader; Pros: Easy To Understand, Great Pictures, Holds Kids Attention, Positive Message, Teaches Good Values, Well Written
A lot of book for the price.

It seemed expensive, until I received it. Every day of the year has a page based on a quote from scripture, but at the children's reading level, followed by an age appropriate explanation. Each page ends with a short statement in rhyme to capture the essence of the page. This book is much better than I expected. We are giving it to our grandaughter for Baptism. Her mom can read it to her every day, one page per day. Best Uses: Gift, Younger Readers; Describe Yourself: Casual Reader; Pros: Easy To Understand, Great Pictures, Holds Kids Attention, Keeps Parents Interest, Positive Message, Stimulates Imagination

Our 8,9 and 10 year olds love to have this read to them at night for their prayer.
Blessings Every Day

I bought Blessings Every Day for my 5 year old grandson. I was enthralled with the idea that a child should be able to connect every day in the calendar year with the reality of God's Presence in his life. However, this book will require the participation of an adult to call the child's attention to the message for the day. An involved parent/caretaker must initiate a habit for the child to consult Blessings Every Day every day. Con: The binding was coming off the book spine when I received it.
We try to get our godchild something religious for Christmas each year--which is tricky when they're still only two. This seemed to be just the right level for someone so young. And in fact our godchild's mother was really pleased with this book because it struck the right chord for what she's trying to teach about prayer at that age. Was glad to find this.
