Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
Our daughter is a saint buff. She really took a liking to these books. They were easy for her to understand. (She has Down Syndrome & reads on a 1st-2nd grade level.) I believe that the series was published about 1997...so anyone canonized after that publication date isn't in any of the volumes.
