Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
I had a medium-sized pyx purchased from Catholic Company, also very beautiful, but it did not hold the 12-16 as it the description. So I had to purchase a large size, stating it would hold 18-22 hosts, as I need it for the nursing home. This one would not be able to hold 18. It may hold 12-13 comfortably. This was my disappointment. For anyone purchasing a pyx, keep in mind, that particular pyx will not be able to hold the lesser amount---go for the next larger one.

Pros: It did hold 12 hosts;
Cons: Purchased because of high; Did not hold the15 hosts;
Best Uses: Nursing Home;
Bottom Line:
I am a pastoral visitor. I take communion to nursing home residents once a month. I need to take between 12-15 hosts, which was my reason for this purchase. However, I could only get 12 into the pyx and I had to take a second pyn. That was a big disappointment to me, especially for that price.
