After four weeks of preparation during Advent, Christmas is the day that Christians celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. The word Christmas literally means “The Mass of Christ” and is also called “The Feast of the Nativity”. Many Christmas traditions have developed, including exchanging of Christmas gifts, sending Christmas cards, decorating the Christmas tree, and displaying a Nativity scene. Together we celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace: “And the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us, and we saw His glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14).
