Christmas is the celebration of the Nativity, when the Virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus in the town of Bethlehem. The Church officially celebrates the Christmas season starting on Christmas Eve, December 24th, with the first mass and concluding on the Octave of the Epiphany, January 14. With so much commercialism surrounding the Christmas season it is easy to forget what Christmas is truly all about.
