Catholic apologetics started as early as the first centuries AD, when apologists set out to convince the Roman Empire that Catholicism was a universal truth for all. Early Catholic apologists used fulfilled prophecy and gospel miracles to support their claims. During the Medieval and Post-Reformation eras such great apologists such as St. Thomas Aquinas came forth with his great Catholic apologetic work, “Summa Theologiae.” In modern times great Catholic apologetic writers consistently contribute to the long line of inspiring Catholic apologetic work that continues to guide and influence Catholicism.
