The Catholic Bible (or Roman Catholic Bible) includes books of the Old Testament and the New Testament. Several of the books that the Catholic Church includes in her Bible are not included in the Protestant bibles. For Catholic Bible study, one that helps us to understand the specific richness and history of our Catholic religion, there are several Roman Catholic Bible translations from which to choose. One of the most popular is the New American Bible (NAB) translation. Others, from earlier periods in Bible translation history, include the Revised Standard Version - Catholic Edition (RSV-CE), the Douay-Rheims (the earliest translation from the original Latin), and the Navarre Bible.
