Product Description

The meaning of the word "saint" in Hebrew, Greek and Latin is "holy one". A Saint is a person who is considered holy, sanctified or consecrated by means of having lived a life of great charity and heroic virtues. The lives of the Catholic Saints provide ready-made role models for children seeking moral instruction and support. Their stories are an extension of the parables Jesus told to his disciples. Yet, the saints' lives are not abstract allegories; they are the record of what real people did to aid their fellow humans in moving this earth ever closer to the Paradise intended by our Creator. The lives of the Catholic Saints demonstrate that anyone can be a saint - any time, any place!

In this book the lives of over 65 saints are fully illustrated and explained. Ages 6-9. 5.5” x 8.5”

This is a great book for children, although I also enjoyed it. Brief, 1 page bio for each saint, plus beautiful illustrations. Other books about the saints that I have purchased sometimes have somewhat scary pictures for children, but these are very beautiful. My children love to read this book!

Can't say anything negative about this book. I looked at a bunch of books about Saints that were geared towards children and found most of them to be too simplistic for my 2nd grader. The pictures in this book are wonderful. They are classic images, not elementary drawings like so many religious kids books use. Even if your child can't read it themselves right now, they will grow into it and appreciate it even more in a few years. I gave it to my daughter for her First Confession and she loves it. Even though she can read, the pictures are her favorite.
