| This museum quality giclee print is from Melissa Dayton's Pearls of Grace collection. Melissa says about this print:
This portrait came about with the passing of our beloved Pope John Paul II. I felt called to capture his gentleness. The green in the background came from his own poetry. He speaks of the presence of the Spirit of God in his book
The Place Within:
For long -
someone was leaning over me
on the line of my eyebrows
his shadow had no weight.
Like a light filled with green,
like green with no shade,
an ineffable green that rests
on drops of blood.
That leaning gesture, both cool and hot,
slides into me yet stays overhead
it passes close by, yet turns to faith and fullness.

About the Artist
Melissa Dayton is the mother of 6 children - ages 17 years to 18 months. She has nine years experience as a portrait artist, creating large images of children and families. She works in oil, pastel and watercolor - but prefers pastels for the softness and light they produce. Her desire to combine her love for God and her love for painting led to the beginning of Pearls of Grace. Each painting is hoped to be an avenue to bring peace, joy, and hope to the person viewing the work. It is with this hope that each print is a "Pearl of God's Grace" for the one who see it...That their eyes see what God wants the eyes of their soul to experience.
About the Giclee Process
Giclee (pronounced zhee-clay), a French term meaning "spraying of ink", is a process that utilizes the most sophisticated digital imaging printer for the reproduction of fine art. A giclee is individually produced, high-resolution, high-fidelity reproduction. Giclee images are known for color intensity, saturation, and brilliance combined with fine detailing and subtle shading. The continuous tone quality is impressive even under magnification. Giclees are superior to traditional lithography with brighter colors, greater durability, higher resolution, and more crisp details. Giclee prints are coveted by collectors for their fidelity and quality. This is considered the best technique for reproducing original works of art, digitally created art, and fine art photography. A Giclee print is the next-best thing to an original!
