Durrow is located near the center of Ireland. Durrow Monastery was founded in the 6th century by St. Columba, one of the patron saints of Ireland. Only a few fragments remain of the buildings that were erected during and after the lifetime of St. Columba. One beautiful Celtic Cross remains, now known as the Cross of Durrow.
