This beautiful Celtic-inspired matted print measures 8 by 10 inches, and reads, "Courage does not always Roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying I will try again Tomorrow." Before the invention of the printing press, monastic artists had been hand lettering, illuminating and painting books on parthment. The most significant of these was the Book of Kells, produced by Irish monks. Celtic Artist, Kevin Dillon has rediscovered the same medieval techniques used by these monks. He crushes semi-precious stones like lapis lazuli, azurite, and cinnabar to make his own paints. Using a goose quill the letters are meticulously applied to the calf skin vellum paper. The final illuminiation is achieved using 24K gold leaf. The artist's seal is imprinted into molten wax at the bottom of each piece making every print a treasure for years to come.
