Pilate's famous response to this statement by Jesus is: "What is truth?". On May 19th you will find yourself asking the same question with the release of the movie The Da Vinci Code. The slogan "Seek the Truth" is being used to promote this new film based on Dan Brown's book with the same title. Categorized as a book of fiction, it is strange to find that the very first page states "All descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents, and secret rituals in this novel are accurate." These claims make it difficult for the reader to untangle which parts of the book are truth, and which are indeed fiction.
However, more than just blurring the lines between truth and fiction, this story holds a deeper danger. Dan Brown asks the readers: "What might the world look like if the Catholic Church were founded on a lie? What if Jesus was not God, but just a married man like anybody else?"
