MAGNIFICAT MAGAZINE
What is Magnificat?
The Magnificat is an exciting and inspiring magazine designed to become your daily companion for Mass, prayers & reflection, saints of the day, and much more. Once you start using the Magnificat you will wonder how you ever lived without it! These beautiful monthly volumes put at your fingertips the daily readings for Mass, the order of the Mass, morning and evening prayers, biographies of the saints, and reflections on Christ's teachings. The Magnificat is very easy to use since it contains only the Scripture readings and prayers you will need for the current month. It is also smaller than other magazines (4.5" x 6.75") so it can fit into your purse or jacket pocket.
How do I use the Magnificat?
The Magnificat can be used in a variety of ways. The most popular way is to use the Magnificat as a companion during Mass. The layout makes it easy to follow along with the readings and prayers. Unlike the missal you may have at your parish, the Magnificat has the complete text for the weekday and Sunday readings, psalms, and Gospels. Your parish missal probably only has the complete readings for Sundays. This comprehensive design is a great help to anyone who has trouble hearing the lector, likes to follow along, or who dislikes flipping around in the larger Roman Missal.
You can't make it to daily Mass? You can still benefit from reading the daily Scripture passages included in the Magnificat. The "Meditation of the Day" will help you get the most out of the readings even if you aren't able to hear the priest's homily.

Can the Magnificat help my prayer life?
Yes! The Magnificat is a very good aid to personal prayer. If you struggle to have a meaningful meditation or prayer time, the Magnificat can help keep you focused. Each day starts with a short Morning Prayer, including: a hymn, a psalm or canticle, Gospel reading, the Canticle of Zechariah, and intercessions. Each evening closes with a similar format of prayer, but also includes the Canticle of Mary and a Marian antiphon.

More Benefits for Magnificat Subscribers
- The inside cover includes the LIturgical Calendar for the current month. There's no more guessing about which cycle to use for readings, and no more feelings of frustration when it's a feast day and you can't find the readings. The Magnificat makes it easy with a month-by-month snapshot!
- Red page edges make it easy to find the Order of the Mass at the center of every Magnificat issue. This wonderful feature will become even more important as we begin to use the new Mass translations during Advent this year.
- Monthly articles by the editor, Father Peter John Cameron, O.P., which examine Christ's teachings and lead us to a deeper understanding of His message. Father Cameron also gives real-life examples of how to live out what we learned.
- Each month, a new piece of artwork is chosen by Magnificat to be featured. You will learn more about the riches and history of the Catholic Church by discovering the story and symbolism behind each masterpiece.

Receiving Your Magnificat
Magnificat is a magazine that you can purchase as a subscription. Each year you will receive 12 monthly issues, plus two special issues for Christmas week and Holy week. Inside, the Magnificat contains the readings and prayers for each Mass - weekdays and Sundays.
Since the Magnificat is a magazine that you receive in the mail, it can take up to eight (8) weeks for your first issue to arrive. The length of your wait depends on the timing of your order and Magnificat's publication schedule. For example, if you order on July 19th you will most likely receive the October issue. This is because July is almost over and the August issues have already been printed and mailed. The September mailing is being finalized so it can be in homes by mid August. Your order will enter the system in time for the October mailing.
Processing, printing and mailing your Magnificat can take up to eight weeks, but is well worth the wait. Plus, once you get started you can keep renewing and never again have to wait for your next issue!
