A SPECIAL YEAR
Pope Benedict XVI has declared this to be a special "Year for Priests". During his announcement, the Holy Father reminded us that each priest is entrusted with the task "to lead the souls entrusted to him humbly and trustingly" to a divine intimacy with God.
| Precisely to encourage priests in this striving for spiritual perfection on which, above all, the effectiveness of their ministry depends, I have decided to establish a special "Year for Priests" that will begin on 19 June and last until 19 June 2010.
