Popular stars and important themes combine in this compelling true story of the "American Mother Teresa," filmed by Paulist Pictures (Romero) from a script by ER writer and executive producer John Wells. Moira Kelly plays Day, the impassioned New York journalist who launched the activist newspaper "Catholic Worker" and put the words she wrote into controversial action. Martin Sheen, Melinda Dillon and Brian Keith join Kelly in this moving saga of a faith not just believed, but lived. RATED PG-13 for a range of thematic elements, some sexuality and brief language.

|Review:||Excellent movie about Dorothy Day! A more modern day-ish St. Augustine story. With Martin Sheen and Moira Kelly, the acting is wonderful. Best Uses: Education, Entertainment; Pros: Good acting, Realistic|

|Review:||This lady has an abortion as a result of a one night stand circa 1920s. But she turns her life around and helps the homeless. She redeems herself in some ways. It's a true story I gather and I had never heard of her until this dvd. It will hold your interest and moves at a good pace. But there are so many other stories of goodness and triumph that surely top this one.|
