A helpless lamb is cradled by its shepherd; the shepherd is protected standing beneath the spreading limbs of a giant oak; and the whole land is bathed in life-sustaining light from above. All this serves to remind us of the everlasting arms of God.

As an artist, Dyke finds this scene reminiscent of the way God can lift us far above our cares and concerns. Even when storms approach like those on the horizon, the Lord remains our shelter and our higher ground. “For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling; He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.” PSALMS 27:4-6
