Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
I bought this for my 3 year old daughter because she constantly wanted to play with our real Advent wreath. I like its child-friendly appeal, and the concept of the Velcro attachments. However, the flames and the Velcro are merely glued on. Before my daughter even saw it, I had to use hot glue on two different pieces that came apart. The wreath must be made of cardboard in its center, and it arrived a little bent.

This is a great 'hands on' Advent wreath for children. They can set this up themselves and add a candle each week. It's also easy to transport to & from the after school religion class I teach. Since it's fabric, there's no worries about flames or cleanup.

We love to use Advent wreaths in Sunday School, and fabric flames are much safer for preschoolers. The candles are attached to the wreath with velcro, so the candles can be added week by week. The velcro comes off with the first use, though, and some of the decorative holly berries were not firmly attached either. We had to reconstruct the wreaths before they were usable.

This product helped introduce advent to the children in our family. It was a fun and easy tool. It made advent hands on for the very young and they were a big part of the celebration this year.
