Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
I bought this as a gift for my nephew's First Communion. My thinking was that I wanted him to have something he would want to keep around as he got older, as opposed to something "child-like" like a praying boy figurine, and I thought this was so appropriate. I realize that it may be over his head at this point, but part of being a good Christian, moreover a good Catholic, is the never ending journey we all must make. These are basic, but important, tenants that will serve as a reminder as he grows in his faith.
