Last week I wrote a blog entitled The Importance of Social Media on Evangelization. Many organizations and companies are very efficient in their use of social media to further their message and mission. The Catholic Company is one of those companies which utilizes social media in order to further their mission which is closely tied to the call of evangelization. We at the Catholic Company use social media such as Facebook and Twitter. We hope that our use of social media benefits not only our customers but Catholics and non-Catholics everywhere in their faith life and journey to our heavenly home.
We use Facebook primarily through our Facebook page. On our Facebook page we promote our blog as well as special deals and savings. Furthermore, we post information and news on our company. The medium of Facebook allows customers and individuals to communicate with the us and stay current on many opportunities which we offer. We also post product pictures on our Facebook page and state our mission statement which includes, “answering John Paul II’s call for all Catholics to join in a New Evangelization.” Through Facebook we attempt to communicate with Catholics online in a unique way and provide our service in a more convenient fashion.
Twitter is also an important Social Media site which is becoming more and more popular from day to day. We also makes use of Twitter as we have over 700 tweets. These tweets include everything from Catholic news, blogs, special deals, and book reviews. We tweet daily and many times even more than once a day. We have over 1800 followers on Twitter which is growing in order to reach more and more people. These tweets allow us to further Catholic news and inspirational blogs which certainly have become a tool of New Evangelization. We use Twitter effectively as a further method of not only promoting our ourselves but also promoting Catholicism, Christ, and encouragement.
We are one of the Catholic companies which uses social media effectively and knows that putting the effort into Social Media can have a very positive influence on not only our company but more importantly the lives of others. Through Social Media one can communicate with organizations and companies unlike ever before and vice versa. Hopefully we offer some ideas and practices to other Catholic organizations so that they might also respond to the call of New Evangelization through using social media.
