Understanding the New MissalThe new missal will be available on or after October 1, 2011. This is a date set by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops to give all Catholic publishers time to update their missals and prayer books. The first time we will use the new mass translations will be on the first Sunday of Advent November 27, 2011. This day corresponds with the first day of the Liturgical calendar, so it’s a good time to begin using the new translation. The USCCB has more information on the new missal. In addition to several books and DVDs to assist you in learning the new prayers and responses for mass, we will list the new missals available for pre-order on our web site.

Is it necessary to purchase the new missal. We are using the last “new” Sunday Missal, it’s not really economical for us since we are retired and on a fairly fixed income. Thank you.

The changes are limited to the updated prayers and responses during mass. None of the readings are changing at this time. It’s up to you if the changes are enough to warrant purchasing a new missal. Understanding the Revised Mass Texts is an inexpensive (less than $2) option for those on a budget to have access to the new prayers as an addendum to their current missal.

I am looking for any product that would have
the daily and Sunday Catholic Missal in LARGE
PRINT. I am surprised to find that there are not any that I can find.
Also, is it possible that the daily and Sunday
missal would be available on a Kindle?
