In Colossians (4:14), St. Paul refers to St. Luke as “the beloved physician,” and thus he is the patron of doctors. Luke is one of the patrons of writers because he wrote both the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles, two of the most important texts in the last two thousand years. Luke is the patron of artists because a legend states that he painted several portraits of the Virgin Mary. He is often depicted, as here, painting, drawing, or writing.
This one of a kind statue is hand sculpted by Hank Schlau and hand painted by his wife Karen. This piece comes boxed accompanied with a history card. Measures 7 x 3 x 1 inches and can either hang or stand both indoors and outdoors.
