This should be required reading for every cradle Catholic. It breaks the Mass down into small bits and explains the WHY the Mass is celebrated the way it is. If everyone understood exactly what was going on during the Mass, there should would be A LOT more excitement and sense of anticipation!!! After all, it is the real Presence of our Lord!

Great Book!

By: Sam (Atlanta, Ga, July 16, 2009)
Pros: Deserves Multiple Readings; Informative; Well Written; Easy To Read;
Best Uses: Reference; Gift;
Describe Yourself: Bookworm;
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
The only thing that keeps me from giving this book 5 stars is that it says on the back of the cover something about how to confess your sins, which I took to mean actual confession. Instead, what is covered in the book is the penitential rite during mass. However, this is only a small detail, and the subject of confession had no bearing on my buying the book. Otherwise an excellent book on the mass!

Michael Dubriel has clearly explained all the parts and prayers of the Mass. All Catholics and all studying to become Catholic would do well to add this book to their library. Regular reading of it should enhace one's participation in the central most solemn ceremony of our faith.
