Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
Endnotes are at the end of only the old and the new testaments, not after each book, making them less convenient than I would like. They are also in a considerably smaller font than the main texts are, making them even less convenient! Too bad, because the commentaries are very pertinent. The size would be great for reading from a lectern or podium, not the greatest to haul around if you're a lunchtime reader. The cover seems like bound leather, not plastic-like, and the edge gilding is elegant. Lies open nice and flat, no gorilla grip required. The family record section is okay if you care for that sort of thing, but I would have preferred fold-out maps or color artwork in that section. This is definitely a Bible for someone with some experience reading and studying scripture, not for a beginner, and it is definitely an investment-quality Bible. The book, in short, is pretty much exactly of the graciousness in which one would expect the RSV to be offered. If you're a presbyopic fan of a more formal translation, this one is definitely worth the investment. |

Disappointing 1.00 out of 5

| Pros: | Deserves Multiple Readings; |
| Cons: | SMALL PRINT; |
| Best Uses: | Younger Readers; |

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
The print is indicated as large print, but in actuality it is quite small. The indication of large print is misleading. The leather cover seems more like vinyl, and comes off as rather overpriced. |

This is my favorite Bible. The others I have which are supposed to be large print - aren't. It is a joy to read. I only wish I had not applied tabs to it. They seem to make the pages edges too heavy and the tabs fold in when the book is closed no matter how careful I am, causing tears. Not the fault of the printer of course. |

It may seem odd that someone who is legally blind is an avid reader. I do use recordings and the internet with special software, but with thick glasses if I get very close I can read large print. All of the goregoing is in aid of saying that this company have outdone themselves in providing a truly easy to read large print Bible! I cannot thank them enough. This is indeed a perfect Bible to give to an older person, a young child or anyone who has trouble seeing. |
