Recently
we traveled to Italy to hand-select new statues,
plaques,
framed art and more - just for you! During our journeys
we visited many small, family-owned studios where
the artisans have been practicing their craft for
generations. The unique and stunning pieces in
our Italian Art Gallery are gorgeous additions to
your home and also make unforgettable gifts!

Both
Porto Recanati and Loreto are located in the Marches
region on the eastern seaboard of central Italy.
During the Middle Ages the word "March"
was used to describe a territory that was on the
border of the Holy Roman Empire. This section of
Italy is beautifully located between the Apennine
Mountains and the Adriatic Sea.
Possibly
the most famous place to visit in Loreto is the
Santuario di Loreto - The Holy House of Loreto.
Protected inside the beautiful church is a structure
said to be the Blessed Virgin Mary's house. Originally
located in Nazareth, traditional
stories tell of angels moving the house when it was endangered.

Florence
and Lucca are both located in the beloved Tuscany
region of Italy. Florence is called "Firenze"
in Italian. It was ruled by the famous Medici family
and was a center of art and
architecture. Florence is home to The Uffizi Gallery
- a museum which houses original pieces from masters
such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Botticelli, Michelangelo
and Raphael. Two of the most well known
landmarks in this city are Michelangelo's famous
statue of David and the unmistakable Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral (also
known as the "Duomo").
Lucca's
claim to fame resides in the old walls that still
enclose the city. Unlike other places, Lucca chose
to keep the walls even when the city boarders
expanded beyond them. A popular pastime is to walk
or bicycle along the tops.

Rome - The Eternal City -
needs no introduction. As the largest and the capital city of Italy,
Rome's influence on economics and politics is
widespread. Rome is a holy city since it is the
resting place for many saints and martyrs.
Completely surrounded by Rome is the sovereign State
of the Vatican City - the smallest nation in the
world. Here in the Vatican resides the Holy Father
Pope Benedict XVI and the Roman Curia.
