This product is for a young reader but a young reader who is a good reader. My daughter loves to read but is still working on fluency and sounding out words. I think this book may be a little challenging for beginning readers. Also, the print is small and not as inviting. The content is great though, a good book about Mary. I did think one illustration in the book - a picture of a bloody Jesus on the cross will be too scary for younger readers. A good book but for children older than 8.
