I bought this as an Easter gift for myself. I grew up in a home that displayed many different Catholic statues, and my (relatively) new house - we've been married almost 5 years - feels bare without them. I fell in love with this statue because it so perfectly depicts my stage of life right now. Whenever I see it, I am comforted that Mary went through so many of the same issues I face with my children. The colors are vibrant, and the artist caught the mother/baby bond so well! The statue's material is sturdy and will hold up for years. I only wish it were a little bigger, for the price.

My married daughter requested this statue. She said that she often finds herself in the situation of the Madonna depicted here, hanging wash, with a child at her feel with arms outstretched, asking to be picked up. The statue is well done, with nicely painted facial features. It comes securely packed.
