This medal is available in two sizes: Small - 15.00MM and Large - 18MM.

A title that celebrates a doctrine believed by the earliest Christians – ordinary and leaders alike: that the body of the Blessed Virgin Mary, at the end of her earthly life, did not stay in the grave and undergo corruption, but instead, by virtue of the dignity of her relationship to her divine Son, and her own sinlessness, was gloriously raised up into heaven to be with her Son. This was a privilege granted to her in advance, but is the same reward that all the just will receive after the last judgment, when they too will be raised, body and soul, to live in heaven for all eternity. Pope Pius XII in 1950 declared the Assumption of Mary to be a truth revealed by God, and therefore, a dogma (a doctrine to be held as infallibly true). The feast of the Assumption is a holy day of obligation, celebrated on August 15. © 2006
