Found on a recent buying trip to Loreto, Italy, this beautiful heart-shaped medal features the popular image of The Madonna of the Streets. The original was painted by Roberto Feruzzi, who was a familiar sight in Italy during the final years of the Victorian era. This well-known Madonna image has been widely reproduced on Christmas cards and holy cards, and is now available as a necklace. Feruzzi called the painting "Madonnina", but it is better known today as "Madonna of the Streets." The back of this Madonna of the Streets necklace features the ancient Christian symbols of the Chi Rio (XP: The first two letters of "Christ" in Greek) combined with the Alpha and Omega symbols. Together the Madonna and Child image and the Christian symbols identify Christ as God and Savior, making this medal an excellent visual witness of the Christian faith. This heart-shaped necklace version makes a wonderful gift for any faithful friend or loved one!
