Product Description

True stories of the persecution of the Catholic Church in Mexico from 1924-1928, when some 2,000 Catholics and 50 priests were put to death under Calles, including Fr. Miguel Pro. In a country 97% Catholic, an anti-Catholic government rules--even today! An inspiring witness to Catholic fortitude. Proves that hatred for the Catholic Church exists even in our times and can still flare into open and bloody persecution in this our so-called enlightened 20th century.

Mexican Martyrdom 2.00 out of 5

By: Tell the Truth (Los Angeles, California, August 22, 2011)
Pros: Easy To Read;
Cons: Disappointing;
Best Uses: Reference;
Describe Yourself: Casual Reader;
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
Well this book is one side story only. I have family that lived around this time so thats why I was intrested in reading it. It didn't describe how the priest had a malicia that was training inside the Catholic churches and that that was the reason why the government wanted the Catholic churches to be close down, or how people were ordered to be killed by the Priest if they refuse to proclame the Catholic church as the true church. Or how they killed and murdered people and chanted "Viva Cristo Rey". Why is this truth not being told. Another cover up?

Never Forget - The History of Our Church 5.00 out of 5

Pros: History at its Best;
Best Uses: Education;
Describe Yourself: Church History Buff;
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
I was introduced to this subject at the Annual Catholic Family Conference in Anaheim a few years back. Ever since I have shared this information with other Catholics who do not know the history of the Catholic Church in Mexico, up to the present. I have purchased additional copies to help educate them about the sacrifice or our Priests and our parish communities. Thank you for such a GREAT publication. Chuck Page.
