Product Description

The Trinity is the deepest mystery of Christian faith. It is unfathomable in its depths. But we can come to know it more deeply every day. In this three CD series, Dr. Scott Hahn shows how God has revealed the doctrine of the Trinity through Scripture and Tradition - but also how He has left His Trinitarian mark on all creation.

Foot prints of the Trinity

Dr. Hahn draws his evidence from both the Old and the New Testaments, from Church teachings, and from the data of modern physics. We see the foot prints of the Trinity throughout nature, Dr. Hahn says, and even atheists have remarked on the preponderance of threes in the universe. Nature's most striking image of the Trinity, however, is the human family. God created the family to include many people closely united in a bond of love. The Church describes both the Trinity and human families with the same phrase: a communion of persons. This heavenly model has much to teach us about how we should live in our earthly households. The Trinity, says Dr. Hahn, will lead us to raise godly families. Godly families, in turn, will make the Trinity more believable, desirable, and attainable in a world that is increasingly hostile to our faith.

The Challenge of Islam

What happens when believers lose this family vision of God? When people forget that God eternally fathers the Son in the Spirit, heresy spreads like a cancer. For if God is not the eternal Father, then He is not our Father. Thus, the fierce monotheism of Islam - which is spreading rapidly - proclaims that God is not Father, and humans cannot be His children. Islamic unitarianism profoundly influences the family and the social order in Muslim countries, just as Christianity affects the home and society in Christian countries. This tape series marks the first forthright, popular study of Islam's anti-Trinitarian theology. According to Dr. Hahn, Islam will present the most formidable challenge to Christianity in the next millennium. Yet very few Catholics understand the Muslim religion, and even fewer dare to say anything critical about it. With charity, balance, and candor, Dr. Hahn contrasts the Christian and Muslim views of God, man, and society.

Trinity or Slavery

The Pope has proclaimed the Jubilee as a Trinitarian event. Jesus was born a man so that we might live with the freedom of the children of God. As Pope John Paul II has said, God is a family: Father, Son, and the essence of love.Because of our baptism, we can take our place as sons in the Son, sharing the very life of the Trinity. This is the true greatness of Christian life, a process that the Fathers of the Church called divinization. Yet far too many people live as if they were not children, but slaves of God. True faith in the Trinity is the only thing that can save contemporary society - and your family! - from the many varieties of the slave mentality, whether they are Islamic, fundamentalist, or secularist. Learn to challenge these competing visions of God. You can begin with this three CD series.
