This movie captures the Capuchin friar's intense faith and devotion, and deep spiritual concern for others, as well as his great compassion for the sick and suffering. It reveals the amazing details and events in Padre Pio's life as a boy and throughout his 50 years as a monk, dramatizing the frequent attacks of the Devil on him, as well as the persecution he suffered at the hands of people, including those in the church. Starring Italian actor Sergio Castellitto, and directed by Carlo Carlei, this is an outstanding feature film on the amazing life of this great saint. Available dubbed in English, Italian with English subtitles, and Spanish language.
I was dissappointed when I learned that the writer of the movie had added/changed some stories in it just to make it enjoyable to watch. Authenticity is very important specially in making films on the lives of the saints because it is expected to affect peoples lives. After watching, it almost affected my faith in a negative way. It's good that there is a booklet saying some things are not true and so my doubts were gone. If you cannot make films on lives of saints with genuineness, just dont do it.
Fabulous & inspiring film -- a must-see

Ensure you do a set-up to change it from Italian to English language.
Touching, sensitive film about 20th century Saint Pio of Pietrelcina (Italy). A must-see for those
who have not heard about Padre Pio.
Nothing....just a great movie...wish the U.S. produced such movies instead of the violent trash that's in Hollywood
A must See
Luis(Peoria, Illinois, March 5, 2009)
A must see picture, where you can see that evil does exist and it is very close to you, however Padre Pio makes those "terrible" moments in moments of grace, accepting God's will, and making the situation one of growth. It is man who makes his life bad, develops wars, not God.
Fantastic movie Best Uses: Own growth; Cons: none; Pros: Acting is excellent, It's closer than youthink, The devil exists
