Murrine-style glass is formed by sections of multi-colored glass rods, then melted together -- a technique used in Egypt between the 3rd and 1st Centuries BC. This glass cross comes on an adjustable braided cord, and is also available in other colors (enter "murrine" in the Search box). I bought this necklace for my 8-year-old daughter in the green and she loves it. I am considering getting myself one in the blue color. The cross is a good size, not too big, not too small, and is very pretty. The black leather cord is a little light, but all in all, this is a very good buy.
