Product Description

The oval shape of this Miraculous Medal mimics the original image revealed to St. Catherine Laboure on November 27, 1830 by the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Blessed Mother displayed herself inside an oval shaped frame, standing upon the world with various rings on her fingers shining rays of light. Around the outside of the frame were the words, “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.” This pewter Miraculous Medal is the exact same image as portrayed to St. Catherine and bears with it a promise of blessings to those who wear it with piety. This Miraculous Medal is strung on a 24” silver-plated continuous chain (no clasp) so that it can easily be slipped over your head and worn daily. The medal measures 15/16"L x 5/8"W. The back of the medal contains the traditional Miraculous medal insignia.

While the metal was exactly what I wanted, the chain was way to short to put over a man's head and therefore couldn't be used and had to be put on another longer chain

The medal itself is very nice, but the chain is too short. 24" might seem like a long chain, but when it's a continuous chain with no clasp, it makes for a tight squeeze over the head when putting it on. I bought three of these (one for each of my young adult sons) and all of them had to struggle to pull the chain over their heads. I think if I ever ordered a continuous chain again, it would need to be 27" long at least (if buying for an adult). 24" is best for a chain with a clasp that can be opened when putting it on.

Not for formal or really dressy occasions but I wear mine all the time and never take it off it is comfortable with a good lenght and it is nice and sturdy. It is a keeper
