Product Description

St. Brigid's Cross is called by many names: Crosóg Brighde in Gaelic, Brigid's cross, or Brigit's cross. The cross is associated with Brigid of Kildare, the patron saint of Ireland whose Feast Day (Lá Fhéile Bhríde) is February 1st. A traditional story tells how St. Brigid wove a cross out of rushes or straw and used it to teach about Christianity.

This Pewter St. Brigid Cross is made by Mullingar Pewter in Westmeath County, Ireland. Made in the traditional way in a workshop with Irish men and women specially trained in the old casting methods, this piece is meticulously assembled and hand finished. It measures 8" x 8".
