I have seen this same design made by others, perhaps vintage, and in sterling silver. This pendant claims to be sterling silver, but it looked like some kind of imitation pewter or other metal. Did not look like sterling silver at all. The carving of the rosebud design was rough, unrefined. The pendant is supposed to slide open in three parts, but I could not slide it at all. Had to have my husband with big strong hands try it. He could do it but not easily. Sadly, I had to return it because I knew I would never wear it.

I love this idea, but the medal is heavy. It also has tarnished quit a bit. The chain has actually rusted. I did not wear it in the shower at any time, so this should not have happened. I am looking for another chain for the medal.

I think the medal is gorgeous and the craftsmanship awesome. The chain isn't quite long enough and it doesn't have a clasp so, in order to replace it, I'll have to purchase another and take it to a jeweler to have it changed. That's a little inconvenient and keeps me from wearing the medal until I can do that BUT I wouldn't trade the medal for the world!
