In 1251, the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Simon Stock, Superior General of the Carmelite Order, and told him, "Whosever dies clothed in this (scapular) shall not suffer eternal fire.” An image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is on the back of the medal, which is the typical style for a medal to be considered a scapular medal. The scapular medal may be worn in the place of a cloth scapular (brown scapular), but it is recommended, to enjoy the many spiritual benefits associated with the devotion, that the wearer should be properly invested in the brown scapular first.

|Review:||I bought this for my mother for her birthday. She was so pleased, she wears it always and gets loads of compliments and comfort from it. She is so happy, I am getting one for myself.|
