Enjoy the beautiful story of one of America's newest Saints! Kateri Tekakwitha was a young Mohawk maiden who fell in love with Jesus and gave her heart to Him. She held on to her faith even in the face of adversity and never stopped praying for those who ridiculed her. Part of our "God Bless America" series.
Kateri lived a life devoted to prayer, penitential practices, and care for the sick and aged. Every morning, no matter what, she stood before the chapel door until it opened at four and remained there until after the last Mass. She was devoted to the Eucharist and to Jesus Crucified. She died on April 17, 1680 at the age of twenty-four. She is known as the "Lily of the Mohawks".
