This Saint Michael medal is unlike most; St. Michael is appropriately presented on a “Shield” medal as the protector of all God’s kingdom. St. Michael is the patron saint of those in the military and public protection services, and his name is said to have been the war cry of the Angels. For this reason the Saint Michael “Shield” Medal is the medal of choice for those serving in our armed forces and other public safety occupations. This sterling silver St. Michael shield medal bears with it the inscription, “Saint Michael Protect Us.” so that those who wear it may invoke the aid and protection of one of our most capable patrons.

The St. Michael shield medal is approximately 1.125 inches in height and comes on a 24” rhodium plated continuous (no clasp) chain.

I was looking for a replacement St. Michael shield to replace the one I lost after having been injured in a car crash, while on duty as a Police Officer. I received my original shield as a gift when I graduated from the Police Academy, it was pinned to my vest under my shirt, and was lost either in the accident or at the hospital. I later retired because of my injuries, but made a full recovery from a broken neck. After my cancer surgery last year, and other serious medical problems, I knew I needed St. Michael back to look out for me. I wish I had my original back, but I think this one is great and will keep me safe.
