Therein lies a story you don’t want to miss. Shadow is a powerful testimony to the providence of God, the power of prayer, and the courage that comes from fidelity to the sacramental life. It is also a breathtaking adventure story.
Each of Fr. Gereron’s World War II ordeals, from Paris to Poland to the hellish Russian front, was more brutal than the last. However, the young seminarian, and later priest, remained rooted in his Catholic convictions proclaiming the Faith to his Nazi countrymen with a bravery that could only come from heaven.
On one level, the book attests to the importance of forming children early in the Faith because of the influence of Gereron’s father. On another level, Shadow reveals how persistent prayer can form a “web of grace” that binds together the Body of Christ. The power of prayer was proven when the Pope granted special permission for his ordination, while still a soldier.
Discover other miraculous “coincidences” in the life of SS officer Goldmann that testify to the protection of being “under the wings of God.”
- How Himmler gave Gereron permission to practice his faith.
- How his assignment to Lourdes and Rome at critical moments fulfilled prophecy.
- How he escaped execution after being arrested for his role in the plot to assassinate Hilter!
- How he constructed chapels, preached 2000 sermons, and started a school of theology.
Fr. Gereron received the wisdom to discern God’s will and the courage to carry it out from his devotion to the Eucharist and his pledge to “do the right thing” despite all opposition. And, most important, he learned that your prayers will be heard--you only have to follow where He leads.
