This beautiful small Celtic Pewter Cross was handcrafted in Ireland, and measures 3 1/2 tall. The early history of pewter in Ireland goes back at least 800 years. These early pewterers produced the first utensils for domestic use, consisting mainly of tankards, plates, and candlesticks. Around the 12 century, pewter was only found in homes of the wealthy or on tables in castle halls. Later its use spread to cottages, middle class homes, and taverns. This Celtic cross was crafted by artisans in Ireland who are specially trained in the old casting methods. Each piece is meticulously assembled and delicately hand finished.
