St. Aloysius was born the oldest son of the Marquis of Castiglione and was given all the worldly comforts a man could desire: servants, endless amounts of money, elegant parties and dances to attend, travel and sport to amuse him, rank and power, elegant clothes, fine cuisine, education and women abounding. However, at the age of 6, St. Aloysius renounced all these worldly goods to become a Jesuit priest. Despite much opposition and temptation St. Aloysius finally joined the Jesuits at the age of 17, only to die 5 years later.
