This bronze St. Brendan's Boat plaque is based on a carving on the early Christian Kilnaruane pillar stone, which stands in a field overlooking Bantry Bay. The scene depicts a curragh with helmsman and four oarsmen and may celebrate St Brendan's discovery of America in the 6th century, also said to represent everyman's voyage through life or the church ferrying its flock to heaven through seas of adversity. From the Wild Goose Studio, this piece is handmade in Kinsale, Co. Cork Ireland, with a bronze finish. Measures 5.5" x 12.5".
