Product Description

St. Brigid is the Patron Saint of Babies, Blacksmiths, Boatmen, Cattle, and Travelers. According to legend, her father was an Irish Chieftain of Lienster, and her mother, Brocca, was a slave at his court. About the year 470, Brigid founded a double monastery, one for men and one for women at Kildare. She became Abbess of the convent, the first in Ireland. The foundation developed into a center of learning and spirituality, and around it grew up the Cathedral city of Kildare. This handcrafted plaque measures 7" x 10" and is made of cast stone. It is a wonderful addition to any indoor or outdoor space.
