St. Bruno

Bruno was born to a prominent family in Germany. He along with other religious companions began the Carthusian order. They embraced a life of poverty, labor, prayer and fasting. Word got around about Bruno and the new Carthusian order. The pope brought Bruno to Rome to be his Papal adviser, but decline the popes offer, due to his vow to live a life of simplicity and humility. St. Bruno wrote many manuscripts and commentaries during his life. His feast day is celebrated on October 6th.
